Aiding Children | Fighting AIDS

Aiding Children | Fighting AIDS

In 2008, ACP provided over $53,000 in support to ACC and AYC. As has been the case throughout our organization’s history, we spent very little on overhead and nearly all of our support went directly to supporting critical ACC and AYC missions and programs. Only 9% of our total expenditures were spent on administrative costs during 2008.

We provided $23,000 to ACC for the food, clothing, education and shelter for 70 children. The largest outlays of money by ACC were for food and housing (rent) for the children, utilities and furniture; and educational expenses (tuition, uniforms, tutors, books, materials, uniforms and an education-focused summer camp) for all 70 children.

ACP also provided $30,000 in support of the increasing array of AYC programs available to the community, including One Love Theater (HIV/AIDS Education Performance Group) (“OLT”), a basketball court and leagues, a community library, children’s art, gymnastics and Aikido education classes, community outreach and health awareness programs. AYC’s largest outlays in 2008

included construction of a basketball court, staff salaries, operating costs associated with OLT and rent for the AYC facilities.
