Distributions and Expenses

During FY 2010, Awassa Children’s Project raised $55,734 in public support donations from our donors. Of that amount, ACP transferred $47,000 directly to fund program services at the Awassa Children’s Center in Awassa, Ethiopia. The percentage breakdown of organizational expenditures is as follows:

• Direct Contributions to ACP Program Services in Awassa, Ethiopia (childcare, food, medical, education, community development): 98%

• Bank and Governmental Fees: 1%

• Operational Services (PayPal fees, website hosting): 1%

Total: 100%

ACP is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and contributions to Awassa Children’s Project are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

ACP board members visit the project annually to meet with management and assess operations. In addition, independent auditors in Ethiopia as well as the Ethiopian government audit the financial records in Awassa annually. The Board of Directors is provided detailed yearly financial statements from the accountant in charge of the project.
